Quick Review

The biggest selling point for the Capital One® SavorOne® Rewards card is its robust cashback rewards program. You earn unlimited cash back that never expires on every purchase you make with the card. The lowest rate is 1% cash back, but you can earn up to 8% cash back on Capital One® Entertainment purchases, 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars, and 3% back on groceries, streaming services, dining, and entertainment purchases.

In addition to the rewards program, The Capital One® SavorOne® Rewards card has no annual fee, and comes with an introductory 0% APR for purchases and balance transfers. Additionally, it offers a $200 bonus when you spend $500 on purchases during the first 3 months. Compared to other cards, this welcome bonus has a low spending threshold, making it easy to earn.

Pros:

  • 0% APR for 15 months
  • No annual fee
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Unlimited cash back rewards that never expire
  • $200 welcome bonus

Cons:

  • Requires excellent credit
  • Potentially high APR
  • Complicated rewards program

Capital One® SavorOne® Rewards Feature Breakdown

Fees

  • Annual fee: $0
  • Introductory balance transfer fee: 3% for the first 15 months
  • Regular balance transfer fee:  None after the first 15 months
  • Cash advance fee: $10 or 3% (whichever is greater)
  • Late payment fee: Up to $40
  • Foreign transaction fee: None

This card has no annual fee, which keeps the cost of the card low. It’s also a good card for frequent travelers, as Capital One doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees.

Interest Rates

  • Purchase APR: 17.99%–27.99% (variable)
  • Introductory APR: 0% for 15 months
  • Balance transfer APR: 17.99%–27.99% (variable)
  • Cash Advance APR: 26.49% (variable)

The 0% introductory rate is great, especially if you need to transfer a balance for credit card debt consolidation. However, the cash advance APR is rather high (and doesn’t enjoy the 0% interest period), so this isn’t the best card to use for cash at an ATM.

Additionally, APR on Capital One credit cards tends to be high, so you’ll want to pay off any large balances before the introductory 0% APR period ends.

Rewards

The Capital One® SavorOne® Rewards card has a robust cash back rewards program with a high cashback rate up to 8%. Rewards are earned based on your purchases in the following categories:

  • 8% on CapitalOne® Entertainment purchases and Vivid Seats ticket purchases
  • 5% on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One® Travel
  • 3% on dining, entertainment, streaming, and groceries
  • 1% on all other purchases

Cashback rewards are unlimited and won’t expire until you close your account. In addition to a high rate of earning rewards, there are a variety of ways to redeem your rewards, including for statement credits, purchasing gift cards, paying for Amazon purchases, or making purchases with PayPal.

Balance Transfers

The Capital One® SavorOne® Rewards card allows balance transfers. The 0% introductory APR applies to balance transfers for the first 15 months, making this card a good choice if you have debt to transfer. However, your regular balance transfer APR may be high (depending on your creditworthiness), so make sure you can pay off your transferred balance during the 0% interest period.

FinanceJar verdict

The Capital One® SavorOne® Rewards card has an excellent cashback rewards program with high earning potential. How the Cards Compare

As these are both Capital One® cards, the SavorOne® Rewards card and the Savor® Rewards card have a lot of similarities:

  • Similar APRs
  • Require excellent credit
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Access to Capital One® Travel,  Shopping, Dining and Entertainment

If you’re a pure rewards hunter, the Savor® Rewards card offers an increased welcome bonus and an extra 1% cash back on dining, entertainment and streaming purchases. However, the Savor® Rewards doesn’t offer a 0% APR period, so it’s not the right choice for anyone who needs to consolidate debt or pay off major purchases over time.

Even if you don’t need the 0% APR and want higher rewards, note that the Savor® Rewards has a high annual fee. If the extra cash back you earn won’t exceed your annual fee amount, we recommend the SavorOne® instead.

Capital One® Savor® Rewards Advantages & Disadvantages

Pros

  • $300 welcome bonus
  • 4% cash back on dining, entertainment, and streaming purchases

Cons

  • No introductory 0% APR
  • High APR
